Abstract

Rendahnya kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia karena banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi kondisi tersebut salah satunya kualitas guru. Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kerja (LPTK) merupakan fase pre-service calon guru dimana periode persiapan untuk peran profesional dalam mempersiapkan tenaga-tenaga kependidikan. Peningkatan mutu guru harus menjadi perhatian serius perguruan tinggi dengan melaksanakan reformasi perguruan tinggi yang menghasilkan calon guru yang memiliki kompetensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kompetensi calon guru profesional mahasiswa pendidikan ekonomi universitas negeri semarang. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh Mahasiswa Pendidikan Ekonomi UNNES angkatan 2013 sebanyak 440 mahasiswa, dengan sampel penelitian 81 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa angket. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa kompetensi profesional calon guru ekonomi dilihat dari kompetensi profesional sebesar 64%, pedagogik sebesar 74%,kepribadian sebesar 60%,sosial sebesar 75% dengan hasil yang diperoleh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Ekonomi berada dalam kriteria baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa calon guru ekonomi telah memahami kompetensi guru dilihat dari kompetensi profesional, pedagogik, kepribadian, dan sosial mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Ekonomi di Universitas Negeri Semarang berada dalam kriteria baik. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa mahasiswa telah siap menjadi guru yang berkompeten. Mahasiswa diharapkan terus meningkatkan pemahaman dan penguasaan tentang kompetensi guru dengan mengikuti pendidikan pelatihan guru dan seminar kependidikan yang berkaitan dengan keguruan. The low quality of education in Indonesia is caused by many factors influenced that condition, one of them is the quality of teachers. Institute of Teachers’ Education (LPTK) is a pre-service phase of prospective teacher which the preparation period to be professional in preparing teachers. The improving of teachers’ quality should be a serious concern for universities by implementing reformation of university that develops prospective teachers who have competences. This research aims to describe professional competence of prospective teachers in economic education students at Semarang state university. Population of this research was the entire economic education students in UNNES 2013 consisted of 440 students, with the sample of the research was 81 students. This research used descriptive quantitative approach with inquiry method for collecting the data. Analysis method used descriptive statistics analysis. The results of the research show that professional competence of prospective teachers in economic education seen by professional was 64%, pedagogic competence was 74%, personality competence was 60%, social competence was 75% and from the results Economic Education students at Universitas Negeri Semarang that was in good category. Based on the results, it can be concluded that prospective teachers had understood the teacher competence seen by professional, pedagogic, personality, and social competence of Economic Education students at Universitas Negeri Semarang that was in good category. It shows that students had been ready to be competent teachers. Students are expected to improve their understanding and mastery of teacher competence by following teacher training education and educational seminars related to teacher.
