Abstract

Basically, interest is a form of acceptance of something coming from the outside, in which if the relation is stronger, the higher also the interest. From the initial observation at SMA Negeri 2 Pekalonga, it is obtained that there are some students who give less attention to the teachers while they are explaining the materials. There are some who are passionately talking with their friends, and there are also some who do not feel hesitate to ask for the teachers’ permission to go to the restroom for quite a long time. The purpose of this research is to identify the influence of the teachers’ learning methods, learning facilities, and learning environment toward the students’ interest in attending the Accountancy class. The subject of this research is 120 XI grade students of Social Sciences Department of SMA Negeri 2 Pekalongan. The data collection method used is questionnaire. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used are descriptive and inferential methods using multiple regression analysis. From the results of descriptive analysis, it is obtained that the students’ interest on Accountancy subject, teachers’ learning methods, learning facilities, and learning environment are in high category. The results show that there is a significant influence of the teachers’ learning methods, learning facilities, and learning environment toward the students’ interest in attending the Accountancy class as much as 65%. The teachers’ learning methods influences the students’ interest as much as 26,52%, the learning facilities toward the students interest is 18, 49%, while the learning environment affects the students’ interest as much as 13,69%. It can be concluded that the teachers’ learning methods, learning facilities, and learning environment have a significant influence toward the students’ interest in attending the Accountancy class. The writer suggests that the school’s leadership board should give more attention to the students’ conditions, for example by improving the school’s physical settings. The teachers are also expected to improve their methods in opening the materials, so that the students will be more excited in attending the class. Besides, the school and the teachers should also create warmer family/friendly atmosphere.
