Abstract

Metode 5R (Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat, Rajin) merupakan salah satu metode untuk menciptakan kenyamanan dalam bekerja melalui pengaturan area kerja dan fasilitas kerja. Studi awal didapatkan bahwa semua bengkel umum sepeda motor di Kecamatan Ungaran Barat (9 bengkel) keadaan area kerjanya masih dalam kategori “buruk” atau belum menerapkan metode 5R. Keadaan tersebut menjadikan mekanik memerlukan waktu hampir 2 kali lebih lama dalam menemukan peralatan tangan dibandingkan dengan lama waktu pencarian peralatan tangan di bengkel resmi. Ini akan berakibat pada bertambahnya lama waktu pengerjaan reparasi sepeda motor, sehingga merugikan konsumen karena menunggu lebih lama. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan lama waktu pencarian peralatan tangan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode 5R pada bengkel umum sepeda motor di Kecamatan Ungaran Barat. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian pre-experimental design dengan menggunakan rancangan one-group pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah berjumlah 42 mekanik. Sampel dipilih berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi berjumlah 32 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner penyaringan sampel, Stopwatch, lembar checklist 5R, lembar pencatatan lama waktu pencarian peralatan tangan dan lembar pencatatan hasil observasi keadaan lingkungan area kerja. Analisis data menggunakan uji T-Test Berpasangan. Berdasarkan uji statistic didapatkan nilai t hitung = 8,759 sedangkan t table (df =31) yaitu 2,039 atau t hitung > t table maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna lama waktu pencarian peralatan tangan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode 5R pada bengkel umum sepeda motor di Kecamatan Ungaran Barat. Saran bagi mekanik agar tetap membudayakan metode 5R di tempat kerja dan untuk pemilik bengkel agar tetap memantau mekanik dan keadaan area kerja untuk memastikan bahwa metode 5R berjalan dengan baik. 5S methods (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) is one of method for making comfort when the employee works through the manage of work area and the facilities. Preliminary studies showed that all general motorcycle repair shop in the district of West Unggaran (9 workshop) state the work area is still in the category of "bad" or not applying the 5S method. The condition makes the mechanic takes almost 2 times as long to find hand tools compared with the duration of the search tools in the hands of authorized workshops. This condition will increased long processing time motorcycle repairman, so the detriment of consumers due to wait longer. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there are differences of the length time to search the hand tools before and after the application of the 5S method in general motorcycle repair shop in the District of West Ungaran. This study was included in the pre-experimental research design using the design of a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study are numbered 42 mechanics. Samples were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria are 32 people. The instrument used a screening questionnaire sample, Stopwatch, 5S checklist sheet, a record long search time of hand tools and a record of the observation of the state of the work area environment. Data analysis using the T-Test test Couples. Based on the obtained value of the test statistic t count = 8.759 while t table (df = 31, α = 0,05) is 2.039 or t count > t table, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference the length of time to search the hand tools before and after application of the 5S method in general motorcycle repair shop in Subdistrict West Ungaran. Advice for mechanics to stay cultivate 5S programs in the workplace and to the owner of a mechanical workshop in order to continue to monitor the situation and work area to ensure that the method 5S going well.
