Abstract

Masalah gizi buruk masih menjadi prioritas pembangunan dikarenakan belum mencapai target MDGs 2015. Ada berbagai faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi status gizi, salah satu faktor adalah modal sosial. Dalam modal sosial terdapat unsur social support. Sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kontribusi unsur social support yang meliputi beberapa aspek dengan status gizi balita di desa Sangkanjoyo Kecamatan Kajen Kabupaten Pekalongan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengambilan informan purposive sampling. Informan utama berjumlah 10 orang dan juga dilakukan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) untuk melengkapi informan yang sudah ada. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, focus group discussion (FGD), dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah : Pertama, Ada kontribusi unsur social support yaitu dari beberapa aspek dalam mendukung status gizi balita di desa Sangkanjoyo Kecamatan Kajen Kabupaten Pekalongan. Kedua, Bentuk kontribusi yang diberikan adalah emosional support berupa kepedulian dan perhatian pada kondisi balita, instrumental support berupa bantuan uang, barang dan jasa yang diperlukan untuk kehidupan sehari-hari, informational support berupa informasi, saran, atau petunjuk menyangkut perawatan dan pengasuhan balita dan esteem support berupa ungkapan positif atau penghargaan dalam pengasuhan balita. Malnutrition still becomes a development priority due to not achieve the MDGs by 2015. There are various factors that can affect nutritional status, one of the them is social capital. There is an element of social capital, it is social support. So the purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of social support element which covers some aspects of the nutritional status of children in the village Sangkanjoyo Kajen District of Pekalongan. This study used qualitative research methods through informants purposive sampling techniques. The main informants were 10 people and also conducted Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to complement existing informants. Observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), and study documentation were used as the instruments to collect the data needed. The results of this study are: First, There is a contribution of element of social support from some aspects in supporting the nutritional status of children in the village Sangkanjoyo Kajen District of Pekalongan. Second, the shape of the contribution is in the form of emotional support care and concern on the condition of infants, instrumental support in the form of cash grants, goods and services necessary for daily life, informational support in the form of information, advice, or instructions regarding the care and toddler care and esteem support in the form of positive expression or appreciation in parenting a toddler.
