In collecting data, the researcher took some references from books, dictionary, and websites. In doing the analysis, the researcher uses the reader response theory in which the ideas which best conform to the text or the text meanings are gained through the interpretive process done by the researcher as the reader. After all data are gathered, the researcher tries to find the children’s intelligence representation in the main character’s behaviour. The results of this research indicate that the stories describe the children’s intelligence in reasoning through the main character’s behaviour and way of thinking such as making humour, signalling case through irony, and applying creativity in solving the problems that are in accordance with the children’s intellectual behaviours.
